Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Neuron Lab platform (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation.
1. The Service
Neuron Lab provides a research platform for reproducible neurobioinformatics and computational neuroscience analyses, including foundation-model baselines. The Service is provided for research and educational use. It is not a medical device and its outputs are not medical, diagnostic, or clinical advice.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account until you notify us of unauthorised access.
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
- One person or entity per account; do not share credentials.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload data you are not lawfully permitted to process, including identifiable patient data without proper authorisation.
- Attempt to break, probe, or circumvent security controls, rate limits, or access boundaries.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Use the Service to generate or distribute unlawful, defamatory, or harassing content, or to infringe third-party rights.
- Interfere with other users' use of the Service or with the underlying infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations, with or without notice, and may report unlawful activity to authorities.
4. Your content
- You retain all rights to the datasets, parameters, and analyses you upload or create (“Your Content”).
- You grant Neuron Lab a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate the Service for you.
- You are responsible for having the rights and consents necessary to upload Your Content and for the accuracy of the results derived from it.
- We do not use Your Content to train our foundation models.
5. Plans, billing, and taxes
- Free and paid plans are described on the Pricing page. We may change plan features and pricing with at least 30 days' notice.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel from account Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees are exclusive of taxes; you are responsible for any applicable taxes and duties.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and, where required, in line with applicable consumer-protection law.
6. Beta and preview features
We may label features as “beta”, “preview”, or “experimental”. These features are provided as-is, may change or be removed without notice, and are excluded from any service-level commitments.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (hosting, database, authentication, AI inference, email delivery). Your use of those services through Neuron Lab is subject to their own terms; we are not responsible for their acts or omissions beyond our data-processing obligations.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, models, documentation, and design, is owned by Neuron Lab or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
9. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them without restriction.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from account Settings. We may suspend or terminate the Service, or your access, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service is no longer commercially reasonable. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEURON LAB DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY ANALYSIS OUTPUT IS FIT FOR A PARTICULAR SCIENTIFIC, CLINICAL, OR REGULATORY PURPOSE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VALIDATING RESULTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEURON LAB WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 100. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Neuron Lab harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Neuron Lab's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts having jurisdiction there, except where applicable consumer law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
